The transition from hospital to home is one of the highest-risk periods for older adults. Custom Care Solutions is available as a resource for discharge planners, social workers, and families as they plan a safe return home. We can often begin care the same day or next day — billed weekly, after service is rendered.

A Legacy That Began Before We Did
Custom Care Solutions was founded in 2011 — but our roots in the Coachella Valley go back close to 35 years before that.
Joan Walker
Pioneer & Matriarch
Joan Walker spent her career reshaping what home care could be. As Executive Vice President of Homemakers Upjohn in Los Angeles during the 1960s and '70s, she helped set the professional standard for the industry. In 1983 she brought that vision to the Coachella Valley, founding Health Concepts, Inc. — one of only five licensed home care agencies in the Valley at the time. Her belief that families deserve consistent, credentialed, compassionate care became the foundation everything else was built on.
Mandy Calvano
Founder & Owner
Mandy began learning the business at her grandmother Joan's side at age sixteen. When Joan passed in 2010, Mandy was serving as acting President. Rather than let the mission end, she founded Custom Care Solutions in 2011 — continuing the legacy in a licensed, professional setting built exactly the way she'd learned it should be done.
Misty Howell
Co-Founder & Director of Operations
Misty co-founded Custom Care Solutions alongside Mandy and has been the operational backbone since day one. She oversees caregiver scheduling, client care coordination, and the systems that ensure every family receives the consistent, reliable service they were promised.
Dom Calvano
Community Outreach Specialist
Dom brings deep community roots to his role. As Co-Founder and sitting President of Alzheimer's Coachella Valley, he bridges Custom Care Solutions with the broader network of families and organizations committed to dignified aging.
Patricia Riley, MBA
Office Manager
Patricia brings a strong business background and a calm, organized presence to day-to-day operations. She keeps the administrative side running smoothly — supporting the team, coordinating with families, and ensuring every interaction is handled with professionalism. Patricia also serves on the boards of Alzheimer's Coachella Valley and Volunteers in Medicine, deepening her commitment to the communities Custom Care Solutions serves.

Odessa is often the first voice families hear when they reach out to Custom Care Solutions. Her warmth and attentiveness set the tone for every client relationship, and her dedication to matching the right caregiver to each family reflects the company's core values.
Seth Howell
Cybersecurity Advisor
Seth leads Custom Care Solutions' cybersecurity and digital safety initiatives. He developed the Cyber Safe course curriculum — translating complex security concepts into plain-language guidance that seniors and caregivers can actually use — and advises on the technology systems that protect client and company data.
